Privacy Policy
In short: Paws & Numbers has no accounts and never sends the numbers you type into a calculator anywhere. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and calculators are used. Visitors in the EU, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first, and everyone can switch it off under Cookie settings.

Hosting
This website runs on Cloudflare as a static site: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and image files only, with no server-side application. Cloudflare processes technically necessary server log data (for example IP address, timestamp and requested file) to deliver and secure the site.
The calculators
All calculators run entirely in your browser. The values you type (for example your pet's weight, age, amount of food or breeding date) are processed locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
If analytics is active (see below), we record that a calculator was used, together with the options you picked from menus, such as the size class, life stage or chocolate type, and for the chocolate calculator the resulting risk band. These choices cannot identify you and are not linked to the numbers you entered.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service of Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; for visitors in the EU and UK: Google Ireland Limited), to measure how visitors use the site: which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive (for example from a search engine), how far pages are scrolled, which external links are clicked, which calculators are used and whether a pet poison hotline number was tapped. This helps us decide which calculators to improve and add.
For this, Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga and _ga_<ID>, which expire after up to two years) and receives technical data from your browser, such as device type, browser, approximate location derived from your IP address (country or city level), the page URL and the referring site. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We keep analytics data for 14 months.
We have turned off Google signals, advertising features and ad personalization, and we do not allow Google to use the data for its own products and services. We do not use the data to identify you, and we do not combine it with other data.
Your choice: visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are measured only after they click "Accept" in the cookie banner. For all other visitors analytics is on by default. Everyone can change or withdraw the choice at any time via the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. You can also block Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or your browser's privacy settings.

Cookies and local storage
The only cookies on this site are the Google Analytics cookies described above, and they are set only when analytics is allowed. Your cookie choice ("granted" or "denied") is saved in your browser's local storage under the key pn-consent so we do not ask again on every page; it contains no personal data and is not sent to us. We do not track you across websites.
Fonts and scripts
Fonts and scripts used to display the pages are served from our own domain. The only exception is the Google Analytics script, which your browser loads from googletagmanager.com. Your browser does not contact Google Fonts or other content delivery networks.
External links and phone numbers
Pages link to or mention third parties, such as pet poison hotlines. If you follow such a link or call such a number, the privacy policy of that organization applies.
International data transfers
Paws & Numbers is operated by a company based in the United States. Requests are processed by Cloudflare and, if analytics is active, by Google, which may process data in the United States and in other countries. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Your privacy rights
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The personal data involved is the technical data processed by Cloudflare and Google Analytics as described above and any email you send us. Depending on where you live, for example in California, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to opt out of analytics via Cookie settings. For visitors in the EU, UK and Switzerland
If the GDPR, UK GDPR or Swiss data protection law applies to you: our legal basis for hosting and securing the site is our legitimate interest in operating the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Our legal basis for Google Analytics is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, and for storing and reading cookies the national rules implementing Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive). You can withdraw consent at any time via Cookie settings, without affecting processing that took place before. You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Contact us at the email above to exercise these rights. Children
Paws & Numbers is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
